Nyikwa Ndong'a Welfare Association

Empowering Education. Strengthening Community.

About Us

Nyikwa Ndonga Welfare Association is a community-based organization founded on the principles of unity, mutual support, and socio-economic empowerment. Rooted in Kodera Location, Homabay County, Kenya, the Association brings together descendants of the late Mzee Zakayo Ndonga and their families with a shared commitment to improving livelihoods and strengthening community bonds.

Process

How it works

A straightforward journey—from application to impact—that stays fair at every step.

  1. 1

    Apply

Students and families submit clear, fair applications with the documents we publish upfront.

  2. 2

    Screen & verify

We check eligibility against published criteria—consistent for every applicant.

  3. 3

    Committee review

An independent panel scores applications against our mandate and available funds.

  4. 4

    Award & support

Successful candidates receive scholarships or bursaries with practical onboarding support.

  5. 5

    Report & learn

We track outcomes and share high-level updates so donors and communities see the impact.

Governance & transparency

Trust is not a slogan—it is structure

Donors, families, and partners should always know how decisions are made and how funds are used. We maintain clear policies, documented approvals, and regular reporting—so accountability is built in, not bolted on.

  • Defined roles for leadership and programme committees
  • Conflict-of-interest safeguards for selections and awards
  • Published criteria and timelines for major programmes
  • Financial discipline with oversight and audit-ready records
